DOWNTOWN YAKIMA BIKE RACKS

This project included designing new bike racks for downtown Yakima based on ideas from local residents. Translating the ideas into vector format with my own illustration style, the most popular designs altered for durability and fabricated into powder coated metal pieces installed in multiple locations around the city. You can now lock your bike to a piece of art in Yakima!

The project was funded by a grant through the Enterprise Rose Architectural Fellows and with the help of Nate Poel as part of an ongoing project to increase biking awareness and safety in Yakima. With the racks we also aimed to instill a sense of pride in what is uniquely Yakima.
